About Renabelle

Who am I? 

My name is Corinna Burton, but most of my friends and colleagues call me Rena. My blog name 'Renabelle' is another nickname my friends used to call me back in secondary school. I’m a Disney addict who loves visiting Disney parks and keeping up to date with the latest Disney news. I also love homeware, vintage fashion, fifties music and cute Japanese things. More recently I have re-discovered my love for make-up and skincare.

Where am I based? 

I have lived in London since 2014 but I was born in the maritime city of Southampton, which you may already know is most well-known for the Titanic.

What are my passions? 

Writing engaging digital content and making YouTube videos

When did I start writing? 

I have been writing stories from the age of six, making handmade books and giving them to my family as gifts. I used to write short stories during my lunch breaks in secondary school, articles for the school magazine and joined a creative writing club in college. My passion for writing led me to achieve my 2:1 university degree in creative writing. Since then, I have been a copywriter and social media co-ordinator for Ernest Jones and Beyond Retro, as well as a deputy SEO editor for MailOnline.

I am now a commerce writer at MailOnline, which involves writing daily shoppable content featuring my favourite homeware, books, fashion and beauty picks, as well as geekier products like video games and consoles. You can find all my latest work here

You could also say writing runs in my family as my Grandad used to write children's fiction and read for the radio in New Zealand. Sadly, I never did hear him read, but I've recently been able to track down an audio tape of his.

What inspires me to write?

I know it may sound cliché but life inspires me to write. I always carry a notepad and pen to jot down my ideas and I'm always ready with a camera to capture things I may want to write about later.

When did I start blogging? 

I was telling myself for years to start a blog and I will be honest… I wasted time procrastinating over my ‘first blog post’, hoping to make it 'perfect'. I wanted it to be fun, quirky and brimming full of confidence. After a couple of failed attempts in 2013 and 2016, I finally found my niche in 2017. I realise now shouldn't overthink things and I just need to be myself.

What can you expect from my blog?  

You can expect posts about my latest Disney trips plus Disney, stationary, fashion and beauty hauls. I may also mix it up with the occasional recipe, craft tutorial or whatever I fancy!

What is my current fashion?

I’ve somewhat toned down my bright pastels and I am really loving black, grey, gold and neutrals right now. I still however like to rock a lot of polka dots.

Shabby Chic, Mid-Century, French Country, Pastel

What are my favourite pastimes? 

I love spending time with my fluffy bunny rabbit Bailey while planning and decorating my diaries with stickers and washi tapes. I also enjoy reading, writing and cooking.
